Srilatha Pamuri
Lecturer in Embedded Systems
I am a dedicated academic professional and an Embedded Systems Lecturer at the Dyson Institute of Engineering and Technology. With over a decade of teaching experience and a strong foundation in Electronics and Communication Engineering, I am deeply committed to delivering high-quality education and inspiring innovation in engineering. I am actively advancing research on developing a Security Processor for IoT architecture as part of my doctoral (PhD) research, reflecting my dedication to innovating in IoT Device Security and cybersecurity. I hold a Master of Technology in Digital Systems and Computer Electronics and a Bachelor of Technology in Electronics and Communication Engineering.
I am also a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (UK) and a professional member of both the Institution of Engineering and Technology (IET) and the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), reflecting my dedication to advancing engineering education and research.
My professional journey includes significant international teaching and research roles in the United Kingdom, Oman, and India, where I contributed to curriculum development, mentoring, and integrating practical applications into teaching. Prior to joining Dyson, I worked as a Lecturer in Electronics and Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Gloucestershire in the United Kingdom, where I played an integral role in module and course development for undergraduate and postgraduate levels. My responsibilities included delivering engaging seminars and lectures using innovative teaching methodologies and mentoring students through their undergraduate academic projects and Masters dissertations. During this period, I also advanced my research as a doctoral candidate in Internet of Things (IoT) Security, with a focus on secure and resilient IoT system architectures. I previously spent four years at the Military Technological College (affiliated with the University of Portsmouth, UK) in Oman, where I contributed to the development of the Systems Engineering Department, and another four years at the University of Technology and Applied Sciences in Oman, where I applied my academic expertise within the Electrical and Computer Engineering department, contributing to curriculum development, academic module coordination, and program enhancement initiatives.
I was particularly drawn to join the Dyson Institute because of its distinctive integration of academic teaching with industrial practice. The opportunity to engage with highly motivated student engineers who are immersed in real-world engineering innovations is both inspiring and professionally rewarding. Dyson’s commitment to innovation, hands-on learning, and academic excellence aligns perfectly with my passion for applied learning and research-informed teaching. I saw it as an environment where I could contribute effectively while continuing to develop as both an educator and a researcher in the field of Electronics and Computer Engineering.
