Laura Checkley's Profile Picture

Laura Checkley

Senior Project Management Office and Operations Manager

I joined the Dyson Institute in March 2022 and I oversee both the Project Management and Operations Teams.

Before joining the Institute, I spent 13 years in higher education, where I successfully delivered multiple European-funded projects. This experience led me to the University of Bristol's Faculty of Engineering, where I headed the Student Industrial Liaison Office. In this role, I developed industry partnerships and spearheaded the Faculty's Year in Industry scheme, taking it from concept to successful implementation.

The concept of the Institute excites me immensely. Breaking down barriers to accessing education while opening doors for young people to engage with world-leading engineers and cutting-edge technology is simply remarkable. When I joined the Institute, I was inspired to think about how I could leverage my skills and experience to contribute to such a transformative place.

Three years later, the Institute's unwavering commitment to innovation and excellence, with students at its heart, continues to inspire me and the way that I can continue to contribute to its success.
